Adult Education & Literacy

​​Improving Students' Skills to Achieve Their Goals

 

Adult Education & Literacy students get the support and skills they need to reach personal goals they have set. Tutors meet with students one-to-one. They focus on the individual student’s needs and goals, which often include:

read at the 8th-grade level or below

Adults at the lowest levels of literacy are almost 10x more likely to live below the poverty line

  • Learn to read, write, or do math
     

  • Complete high school (GED or NEDP)
     

  • Prepare for college
     

  • Build work skills or prepare for a certification
     

  • Improve life skills: help children with homework, read health information, handle personal finances, prepare for an exam
