Shelby Hawthorne

Shelby Hawthorne

I believe in Literacy for Life – I have been a tutor for several years, I am a member of their Board of Directors, and I support them financially.

For me, it’s all about the children.
That might sound like an odd reason to support an adult literacy program, but the fact is the single greatest indicator of children’s success is the literacy level of their parents.

The learners I work with are anxious to learn and dedicate themselves to do whatever it takes to be successful. Many are working two jobs and still find a way to meet, and to put in the time that is takes to improve their skills. I am proud to support Literacy for Life and the people that we serve.
